Outdoor Dog Hammock

Question: What do Bankhead, 2x4's, seat belts and roofing nails all have in common?...
...This fabulous outdoor dog hammock.  DBJ.

DIY Dip-Dyed Bleached Denim Shorts... My Way!!

The hippie look is not part of my normal wardrobe vocabulary (number of Asian hippies I've encountered in my life... zero), so when I was looking for an outfit for Tomorrow World I was forced to get into creative DIY mode.  My over-analytical self couldn't just settle for some simple bleached jorts, so I went crazy and added a tribal pattern and, of course, some sparklies. :-)

Vino Adventures {Napa Valley in 8 Hours}

En route to Taiwan, my mom and I planned a short 2-day "layover" in the San Francisco area to visit some relatives.  We made a last minute decision to spend a day in Napa Valley as neither of us had ever been.  Since we already had a rental car I decided to drive instead of opting for the tour bus route (most tours I found are $80-$110/pp for 3-4 winery visits, not include tasting fees).  I spent quite some time researching which wineries to visit but in the end decided to go with recommendations from friends, and they were spot on.
Life doesn't get much better than this. :o)

DIY Stone Raised Garden Bed

After months of thinking and talking about building our own raised garden bed, Jeff finally sealed the deal when he came home from Home Depot one day with 14 different potted vegetable plants and no where to plant them.  And of course in typical Jeff fashion, building a wooden bed wasn't enough of a challenge so we went for a stone bed.  Check out our finished product!

Gallery Wall for Entryway

Ever since I moved into my new home I've been OBSESSING over creating a gallery wall.  Can't even tell you how many nights I stayed up 'til 2AM pinning every possible version of a gallery wall you can imagine.  I also went through many iterations of the final layout as I arranged and rearranged the pieces on my floor, a sort of gallery wall game of Tetris.  Here's a look at the finished product, with inspiration and build details after the jump!

DIY Painted Picture Frames

I've been working diligently on a gallery wall for my entryway and wanted to add a few fun pops of color to some plain frames I already had.  Here's a quick post on my new fun frames.

Spray-painted IKEA aluminum RIBBA frames
I used Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Spray Paint in Lagoon. I sprayed 2 coats, and when the frames were completely dry I sprayed 1 more coat because I noticed some spots I missed.  Total cost was $3.27 for the spray paint, and I still have plenty of spray leftover.

My Adopted Patio Furniture - How to Paint Adirondack Chairs

There's no better feeling than getting something for free that you actually like and frequently use.  When we lived in West Midtown, Jeff found this little treasure broken in several places and laying out on the curb ready to be scooped up by the next garbage truck... or by us.  Free patio furniture? Yes please.  Oh, we don't have a patio? Who cares... it will look just as nice on our back parking pad/driveway.
